Who We Are

Almost Local Started With a Feeling.

I remember sitting in a café in a country that wasn’t mine.

On paper, everything was fine.
I had built a life. Routines. Even friendships.

But something felt… off.

Not wrong — just unfamiliar.
Like life hadn’t quite “clicked” yet.

And I remember thinking:
“Is this just part of living abroad… or is it just me?”

That’s when the idea of Almost Local started. A space to celebrate life beyond our comfort zone, to connect and embrace the ups and downs of living abroad, with others who really get it.

Welcome to Almost Local.
