Hey! I’m Maria, the voice behind Almost Local. Originally from Argentina, I’ve lived in four countries—Argentina, Brazil, New Zealand, and the Netherlands—and traveled to 40 countries so far! My passion for travel and exploring new cultures has shaped my journey, and I’m also the Co-Founder of Across South America, a family-run boutique travel business I manage remotely.

I’m a proud mom of two teenagers, 12 and 14, who keep life exciting as we navigate this expat adventure together.

Almost Local is my way of connecting with fellow dreamers and adventurers who understand that starting over in a new country is a blend of excitement, frustration, and empowerment. We’re all in this together!
